Independent consultant with many years of experience in auditing, certification, accreditation and standards development. Experience as Head of Certification in the field of sustainability, including biofuels certification under RED. As Head of Certification at SustainCert, Javier was responsible not only for the validation and verification of projects, but also for the approval of validation and verification reports from independent accredited bodies. Javier has extensive knowledge of the RSB requirements and has worked as an external expert with the RSB in various activities.

Ivan Hernandez

20 years of experience in the sectors of Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change, with international experience including professional duties in 30 countries in 4 continents. Ivan has participated in +300 projects in different capacities including auditing (validation/verification), certification (as part of a standard scheme), and as consultant, for the following sectors: Renewable Energy (Biofuels, Biogas, Biomass, Geothermal, Hydro, PV, Wind), Energy Efficiency (End-use Domestic, Industrial), Waste Management (Landfills, Composting) and Land Use and Forestry activities (Agroforestry, Afforestation-Reforestation).

Paola Muriel

Manager

Climate change consultant with a master’s degree in Carbon Finance from the University of Edinburgh, actively collaborating in different activities to climate change and sustainability related projects for voluntary carbon markets in sectors such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste, among others. Previous experience includes serving as a PMR Mexico consultant to the World Bank to support SEMARNAT (Mexico’s Ministry of Environment) in the development and implementation of the Mexican Emissions Trading System Test Program, Internal Audit Leader for atmospheric emissions and supply chain at GIS Mexico, External Climate Change consultant, among others.

Omar Perez

Officer

Consultant at SAJOMA Climate Technical Consulting. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering and currently provides support and assistance to emission reduction projects seeking certification under various standards in different sectors and scopes. He has previously collaborated in managing over fifty environmental projects with a high degree of effectiveness, successfully obtaining approval from relevant environmental entities. Also has experience in biogas production as an alternative source of energy, with a focus on hydrogen production. Additionally, he has worked on environmental emergency response and remediation of contaminated sites, among other areas.

Wendy Mar

Officer

Consultant at SAJOMA Climate Technical Consulting. She holds an Environmental Engineer Bachelor degree with a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV by its acronym in Spanish). Previous experience in an Environmental Laboratory involved sampling physical and chemical hazards, preparing technical reports, and interpreting results for customers.

 Samples of work perform related certification/standards schemes and trading systems:

  • Development of Standardized Reporting Templates and Streamline the Validation and Verification Processes for Gold Standard.[1]
  • Design of the pilot Emission Trading System for Dominican Republic.[2]
  • Analysis for Sustain CERT on the VCS standard certification process to find opportunities of implementing Digital MRV procedures.
  • Development of the methodology SOIL ORGANIC CARBON – SOC stock increase by adding high organic content from anaerobic digestate for BioCarbon Standard.
